Our Story

Rooted in the House of TATA, our initial pursuits lay in mastering the art of watchmaking, although, we soon found ourselves intrigued by another form of adornment— one that was precious. However, Indians relied on family jewelers, but they were not being given true karatages of gold.
And this is how our story began.
In a market that worked just on one's word, it was time to bring proof. By setting up the very 1st Karatmeter in the country, Tanishq redefined what it meant to buy jewelry— setting a new benchmark of purity, transparency and trust.
From the hills of Assam to the dunes of Jaisalmer, the valleys of Kashmir to the southern shores of Kerala, we crafted jewelry that celebrates the many cultures, stories and sensibilities of a diverse nation.
